In a direct comparison with the Apple MacBook Pro, Microsoft’s ad highlights how the Surface Pro has a full touchscreen display. On the other hand, the ad questions why Apple can’t do that and give just a ‘little bar’ — an obvious dig at the Touch Bar Apple flaunts in the MacBook Pro.
The ad also touches on the fact that the Surface Pro 7 has a detachable keyboard whereas such a feature doesn’t exist on the MacBook Pro. The ‘detachable’ keyboard comes with the iPad Pro and not MacBook, which would’ve been a more direct comparison.
Microsoft further takes a dig at the MacBook for not being a gaming device. The Surface Pro, according to the ad, remains a “much better gaming device than Apple MacBook Pro.
Finally, there’s the price where almost everyone and anyone can take a dig at Apple. Microsoft doesn’t squander that opportunity. The Apple MacBook Pro starts at $1,299 whereas the Surface Pro 7 starts at $890. It’s a different matter that the top-end configurations of both the devices are more or less similarly priced only.
This isn’t the first time Microsoft has taken a dig at Apple with its Surface devices. Apple has never ‘responded’ in kind but has in its keynote hinted how Windows laptops don’t come close to what Apple makes.
