With the OnePlus 7/7T OxygenOS 11 update in limbo, it’s the turn of the surprisingly good OnePlus Nord to get some Android love in the form of an Open Beta. The OS upgrade brings a bunch of new features and a refreshed UI to the OnePlus Nord, along with everything that is included within Android 11.

- Added the shortcut key for Dark Mode, pull down the quick setting to enable.
- Supporting automatically turn on feature & customize time range. path: Settings – Display – Dark Mode – Turn on automatically – Automatically enable from sunset to sunrise / Custom time range
- Shelf
- Newly shelf interface design, the interface is clearer
- Added weather widget, animation effect smarter
- Gallery
- Supporting Story function, automatically form weekly videos with photos and video in storage
- Optimize the loading speed of the gallery, and the image preview is faster
The Android 11/OxygenOS 11 Open Beta comes in at 2.8GB for the global variant of the OnePlus Nord and 2.9GB for the Indian version with download links to both listed below:
Remember to backup your data before upgrading to the OxygenOS 11 Open Beta, and that you’ll need to have at least 3GB of storage available and 30% or more battery life.
Updating to Android 11 Open Beta
Note: This upgrade method will not erase data but please be sure to backup first.
- Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
- Copy the ROM upgrade package to the phone storage.
- Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
- After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
- Update successful.
Those with the European OnePlus Nord will have to wait a little longer to get a taste of Android 11. If you’ve installed the Open Beta and want to revert back to OxygenOS 10, you’ll need to download the relevant Rollback package via the links below:
Rollback instructions
Note: This downgrade method WILL ERASE all the contents of the phone, please be sure to backup first.
- Download the latest ROM upgrade zip package from the specified server.
- Copy the Rollback package to the phone storage.
- Go to Settings -> System -> System Updates -> Click top right icon -> Local upgrade -> Click on the corresponding installation package -> upgrade -> System upgrade completed to 100%.
- After the upgrade is complete, click Restart.
- Update successful.
