Samsung has begun rolling out the Android 11/One UI 3.0 update to its Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Z Fold 2 handsets via OTA which also includes the January Security Patch. Besides the OS bump, the OTA also brings a refreshed One UI 3.0 design and improved stock apps.
The OTA bumps the twice-released Galaxy Fold up to build F900FXXU4DUA1 for the LTE variant and F907BXXU4DUA1 for the 5G variant, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 to F916BXXU1CTLL.
As with other Android 11 updates, the OTA adds chat bubbles, one-time permissions, a dedicated media playback widget, and a chat section in the notifications area to both the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 2. While the OTA is in the process of being pushed to the devices, it may take a couple of weeks for your handset to show that it’s available to download. If so, there’s no reason why you can’t open up the Settings app, select Software Update, and tap Download and Install to see if you can prompt the server.
Let us know in the comments below if your unit exhibits any bugs or glitches after installing the Android 11/One UI 3.0 update.
