Samsung Electronics Galaxy Tab S7+ (Wi-Fi. 512GB) — $878, was $1,030

While this won’t replace a laptop like an iPad can, this is an excellent Android tablet that offers excellent battery life. It offers a larger edge-to-edge display than previous Samsung tablets and offers Dolby Atmos surround sound and quad speakers. For the worker bees, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Plus arrives with an S Pen, allowing you to take control of presentations or up your creativity. It’s compatible with a keyboard, and it comes with 128GB of storage (expandable to up to 1TB which is great if you’re not a fan of storing files in the cloud). For your Zoom calls and more, there’s a 13MP wide camera and 5MP ultra-wide dual back cameras, along with 8MP front-facing camera. We’re completely impressed with the battery power on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 — and it recharges quickly thanks to its USB-C port. It’s a pretty complete package.

New Apple iPad Air (10.9-inch, Wi-Fi, 256GB) — $699, was $749

When we reviewed the new iPad Air, the consensus was that it’s basically just as good as the iPad Pro (probably the best tablet money can buy), but way less money. The newest version is absolutely gorgeous to look at. It’s got the edge-to-edge 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display — which became possible when the Home button was eliminated and the Touch ID sensor to the tablet’s top button. The engine inside the iPad Air is the A14 Bionic chip, which is super fast, and this was the first iPad to incorporate USB-C so that charging and file transfers are correspondingly quick. We love the new operating system too, iPadOS 14, which helps integrate elements like the Apple Pencil, allowing it to be a note-taking device that recognizes your handwriting. Finally, there’s an eco-benefit; the iPad Air has a 100% recycled aluminum enclosure, 100% recycled tin for the solder on its main logic board, and 100% recycled rare earth elements for its speakers. How great is that?
