Lutron’s lighting control system is expanding at CES 2021 with the addition of the Caseta Outdoor Smart Plug, allowing you to easily automate and control your outdoor lights with HomeKit.
Perfect for your patio’s string lights, your front yard Christmas lights, accent spotlights, or outdoor appliances, the Caseta Outdoor Smart Plug is equipped with an IP65 rating and solid-core construction for strong year-long water and dust resistance. It has a male power cable on one side and a female power cable coming out the other side with the electronics in between. There is an illuminated button in the center for physical control on the plug itself.
The smart plug can be controlled via the Lutron app as well as with Apple HomeKit, though it does require the Lutron Caseta Smart Bridge. Users can also opt to turn the plug on or off with a Lutron remote for easy indoor control.
Aside from HomeKit, it will also work with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Ring.
Lutron’s Vice President of the Residential Mid-market Business Matt Swatsky said “It’s essentially weatherproof, dirtproof, and sunproof. A homeowner can now enjoy all the benefits of a Caseta system for their outside spaces.”
The Lutron Caseta Outdoor Smart Plug will launch at Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and others this March for $79.95.
