Fortis Lux, Big Apple Accounting Team Up

Fortis Lux Financial, a premier financial service organization, has added Big Apple Accounting as a partner to continue helping businesses during the pandemic, according to a press release.

The new addition has expanded Fortis Lux’s services to businesses and business owners facing an “increasingly complex economic and financial climate, according to the release.

Big Apple is a full-service certified public accountant (CPA) firm offering monthly accounting, tax preparation and planning, and outsourced chief financial officer (CFO) services for business owners, high net worth individuals, medical practice owners and entrepreneurs.

“The COVID economy has pushed business owners and executives into making decisions amid uncertainty and turmoil, said John Salina, managing director with Fortis Lux, according to the release. “We’ve developed a strategic partnership program to help ensure clients have access to the trusted professionals, resources and technology they need to help them make decisions that will serve them well not only through the pandemic, but for generations to come.

According to the release, Big Apple helps companies transition to remote working, with tools to help acclimate them to the remote accounting and finance needs.

In addition, the partnership will allow clients to access further services from Big Apple, including wealth management needs, estate planning, investment planning, tax management and retirement options, the release stated.

In separate news, Adrian Blair, CEO of digital accounting platform Receipt Bank, told PYMNTS that the lack of data integration between portals is a problem businesses are trying to overcome with the aid of business advisory services. He said small businesses are particularly in need of cash flow forecasting, financial resilience planning and advice on payment scheduling.

But the small business accounting community had already been shifting toward advisory services and away from old-school number crunching even before the pandemic. And the B2B FinTech ecosystem has responded through automated tools, which don’t try to replace workers, but do take care of time-consuming manual tasks. Accountants can then spend more time on valuable services for people.
