Apple took a giant leap when it introduced its own line of SoC with Apple M1 chipset. The latest chipset from the tech company currently powers the MacBook Pro and MacBook Air laptops. Now, Apple is also reportedly working to expand its portfolio with the launch of a new Apple Silicon Mac that will be much more powerful than the current M1 chip. Apple Might Launch MacBooks with 12-core Apple Silicon

As per a known tipster LeaksApplePro, the company is planning to launch a new Apple Silicon chipset. The tipster claims that the upcoming chipset will feature 12 cores. For your reference, the Apple M1 comes with 8-core CPU that consist of four high-performance cores and four high-efficiency cores. The company claims that it is the world’s fastest CPU cores in low-power silicon. . This means that the upcoming silicon will be much more powerful than the current chipset. The 12-core chip might come with eight performance cores and four efficiency cores.

Previously, Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple might introduce redesigned MacBook Pro models with 14.1 and 16-inch screen sizes. The laptops are might arrive in the second quarter of 2021. Both the models might come with Apple’s custom silicon. The 14.1-inch MacBook Pro model might feature the 12-core Apple Silicon, while the 16-inch model might come with a 16-core chip.

Interestingly, the company is also prepping to launch desktop-class 5nm A14T chip for its iMac series. However, our best guess is that the company will first focus on the laptop segment.
