Once an exclusive feature on the Galaxy Note series, the S Pen made its way to the Galaxy Tab range and has now arrived on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the first Galaxy S series device to ever support the active stylus. Unlike the Galaxy Note 20, the S21 Ultra doesn’t have an internal storage slot for the S Pen which naturally isn’t included in the box with the handset. Don’t worry, though, Samsung has thought of this and conveniently developed a silicone case that comes with an S Pen that slots into the side of the case, making the footprint a tad larger.
Join us after the break where we unbox the Silicone case with S Pen for the Galaxy S21 Ultra and give our first impressions on how it feels in the hand and pose the question of whether the addition of S Pen support is worth the extra girth.
Despite my biggish hands, I found the silicone case with S Pen to add a noticeable amount of width that I’m still coming to terms with. The actual case is well built, which you would expect of a first-party case made by Samsung itself. It’s grippy and the S Pen storage slot on the left-hand side of the case fits the stylus perfectly, it’s not easy to dislodge by accident but is easily removed when you need it.
Let us know in the comments below if you think the larger footprint is offset by the addition of stylus functionality on the Galaxy S21 Ultra with the Silicone cover with S Pen. And if you do feel that it’s what you need, we’ve included links to Amazon and Samsung so you can buy one for $69.99.
