The OnePlus Band has launched, but not in the US

OnePlus has relatively quietly announced the OnePlus Band. It’s been leaked and teased quite a bit over the last few weeks, but I was at least expecting more fanfare, and less of a quick shop update in the middle of CES.

It’s a pretty simple device, though, so maybe this is for the best.

OnePlus Band

The OnePlus Band doesn’t have a whole lot to it, so this might be OnePlus saying they’re going to wade into the wearable market very carefully. Sure, tepid isn’t really their style, but this is a brutal market where $450 device flops are costly.

The Band sports a 1.1-inch AMOLED display and is fully scratch resistant, and a 100mAh battery keeps it going for up to 14 days. You’re getting a 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope, SpO2 sensor, and heart rate monitor. It’s also IP68 water and dust resistant, which… honestly isn’t bad, as its priced at the equivalent of around $34 USD.

You’ll get some nifty integration with OxygenOS to boot, like syncing up Zen Mode with the Band, quickly finding your phone with the Find My Phone tracking, and stats from the OnePlus Health app. You can’t take calls from the wearable, however.

As of right now, this one’s only launching in India. At ₹2,499 it is very competitively priced, but the rest of the world will just have to wonder when they’ll get a taste of OnePlus’s wearable tech.
